THE FIRE BRIGADE.
THE ANNUAL COMPETITIONS. EVENTS HELD IN MONA SQUARE. Despite inclement weather the. annual competitions of the Ashburton Volunteer Fire Brigade were held this afternoon. The events took place at Mona Square for the first time, but the increase in public attendance that was hoped for did not result on account of the weather. Members of the Ashburton Borough Council were present. Following are details up to the time of the “Guardian” going to press:— Barber Memorial One-man Sealed Handicap—R. Leask (ssec) 1, S.
