ESCORTED FROM SHIP.
CLAIM AGAINST BOXER. ALLEGED BREACH OF CONTRACT United Press Association--Copyright) SYDNEY, January 8. Mr Justice Nicholas today granted an application by Charles Lucas, boxing promoter, for a writ of care directed against a Dutch boxer, ■ Bep van Klaveren, who, it was alleged, was leaving by the .Mariposa for America to-day. It is reported that Klaveren, accompanied by his wife, was escorted ashore a few minutes before. the Mariposa sailed. The application arose but of a writ for £2OOO issued by Lucas against Klaveren for alleged breach of contract. Lucas said Klaveren had agreed to take part in five more fights, and that Klaveren’s wife had said, “I am homesick, and that is all about it.” John Adolphus Clark, who claims to have been Klaveren’s manager in Australia, is also bringing an action for £172 damages.
