BERLIN, Jan. 1. \ In a New Year proclamation to armed forces, Herr Hitler said “a decisive year in German military history lies behind us. Germany is once more free and armed. For 1936 the watchword is again and again forward for the peace, honour and strength of the nation.” Herr Goebbels (Minister of Propaganda), in a New Year message to the nations says that future historians will call 1935 “the year of German freedom,” because by equipping herself for defence Germany has ceased to be a playball in the hands of the world Powers.” RESISTANCE TO BOLSHEVISM. HITLER URGES CONTINUANCE. LONDON, January 2. The Berlin correspondent of “The Times” says Herr Hitler’s New Year message to the Nazi party emphasises tihat, Germany’s position is stronger and healthier than in recent years. In 1933 the Nazis captured internal power, in 1934 they consolidated it and prepared the way for the external freedom which they achieved in 1935. He said 1936 would be another year of Nazi determination and energy, in which Germany especially would continue successfully to resist the undermining efforts of Bolshevism. ' Germany’s future was indissolubly bound up with the Nazi party. He thanked all party members, and also those known and unknown, who, helped to build up the new Reich. He concluded: “To-day we thank the Almighty, who has given our work His (blessing hitherto, and unite in humbly petitioning Him not to desert us in the future.”
