A HEALTHY YEAR.
DISEASE IN ASHBURTON. MORE TUBERCULOSIS IN BOROUGH. Although there was a marked increase in the number of cases of tuberculosis in the Ashburton Borough last year, an appreciable decrease was shown in other infectious diseases. The year was a healthy one, there being no notifications in January, February, May, June, July or December. There were nine notifications of tuberculosis last year, compared with four in 1934, five in 1933 and twelve in 1932. The total number of diseases notified was 12, against 13 in 1934, IS in 1933, 25 in 1932 and 24 in 1931. Following are particulars of the diseases notified, compared with the
The County Figures. There was also an appreciable decrease in the total number of infectious diseases in the Ashburton County in 1935, the figure being the lowest for some years. There were 14 notifications last year, compared with 20 in 1934, 15 in 1933, 61 in 1932, 42 in 1931, 70 in 1930 and 154 in 1929. There were no notifications in May or November.
