BIRTHS DECREASE.
ASHBURTON VITAL STATISTICS. FEWER DEATHS DURING YEAR. Except in the case of marriages, vita! statistics for Ashburton for the year ended on Tuesday show a decrease. This is particularly noticeable in the births,, which last year were 56 less than the 1934 total. Deaths decreased by 16 while there were two more marriages. For the quarter ended December 31, an increase in deaths is apparent, there being 13 more than for the corresponding quarter in 1934. There were two less births and 15 more marriages.
