FERRO-CONCRETE.
FIRST BUSINESS PREMISES. CONSTRUCTION IN ASHBURTON. After some delay, owing to the withholding of a permit by the Borough Council, the building in Havelock Street to be erected for Mr R. Stephenson will be proceeded with early in the New Year. The withholding of the permit was due to a difference of interpretation of certain clauses in the building by-laws. The matter has now been adjusted and a permit granted. The building will be constructed in ferro-concrete, as at first mooted. This will be the first business structure in that material in Ashburton. The work should be completed by the end of April.
