YOUNG MAN FOUND SHOT.
3 (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 18. A shooting tragedy occurred last evening in the staff quarters at Brent’s Bathgate house, when Lorence Williamson, aged 23, was found huddled up beside his bed, dead, with a bullet wound in his head, and a pearifle lying ' partially under tiie bed.
Deceased was last seen about eight p.m., when he refused an invitation to go to the pictures: He had apparently been dead about an hour when the discovery was made by a porter. Deceased was a painter employed by Brent’s, Limited. He had been living on the premises for 18 months. Detectives White and Thompson, of Hamilton, are investigating . the case. Although the circumstances were at first believed to he suspicious, it is understood the police hold the theory that death was either self-inflicted or was due to an accident.
