SHOOTING TRAGEDY
MAN KILLED AT LOWER HUTT.
ANOTHER CRITICALLY WOUNDED FOUND LYING IN STREET. /Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. One man is dead and another in hospital in a serious condition as a result of a shooting tragedy at Lower Hutt last night. The victims are: Dead. Maurice Power, a single man, aged about 35, an accountant. Wounded. Tan Trask, a single man, aged about 27. The shooting occurred in Pretoria Street about 10.10 p.m., near a house at which Power was a boarder. Power was found dead on a roadway with a .22 Winchester rifle beside the body. Trask, who was shot in the back of the head, was found on the footpath in an unconscious condition. Trask was immediately taken to the hospital and his condition at an earlyhour this morning was very critical.
