THE WEATHER
UNSETTLED CONDITIONS. This morning broke fine with bright sunshine, but as the morning advanced the sky became a little overcast, but rain did not appear likely. There was a light north-east wind yesterday. The barometer reading at 9 o’clock this morning was 29.83 inches, while the maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday and last night were 60 and 30 degrees respectively, and a frost cf three degrees was registered this morning.
TO-DAY'S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General inference: A moderate anticyclone has been advancing onto the Dominion, its centre being located over the north Tasman Sea. A depression is situated over the south-west portion of the Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: — Light variable winds but northerlies ruling and later freshening. Weather fine, mild and' hazy. Seas smooth to moderate.
