TUBERCULOSIS POLICY FRAMED.

Its policy regarding tuberculosis was defined by the Wellington Hospital Board when its adopted resolutions involving the appointment of a iulltime non-resident tuberculosis officei, at a salary of £IOOO per annum, with annual increments of £SO, to maximum of £1250. Applications for the position are to sought throughout New Zealand and the main Australian cities. Other decisions are that the dispensary system be extended in W ellington and that other centres within the Board’s districts be opened for certain hours during the week, that the dispensary service be available to all free, irrespective of domicile. The Board decided that a complete system of record for follow-up work he established, which would include expansion of the contract system, particularly in regard to those who have come into contact with patients suffering from the open disease. This is particularly important in respect those between the ages of 10 and 25 years. It was also that the co-opera-tion of boards social welfare officers and other approved qualified district nurses be sought in connection with the domiciling aspect.
