FOOTBALL.
THE ALL BLACK TEAM. AUCKLAND MEMBERS FAREWELLED. AUCKLAND, July 26. Through the Mayor (Mr Ernest Davis) the citizens of Auckland to-day tendered their best wishes to the Auckland members of the All Black team, who will leave for Wellington on Sunday evening, at a civic farewell at the Town Hall. All sections of the community were present to wish the All Blacks the best of luck.
In expressing the sentiments of the citizens, the Mayor, in three other capacities—as president of the New Zealand Football Association, president of the Auckland Football Association, and vice-president of the Auckland Rugby League—tendered fraternal greetings and wishes for good fortune. M. Corner was unable to attend tfte civic farewell to the All Blacks because of an injury to a leg. He is resting, and is expected to make a quick recovery.
