Sanson, M. Cotter, M. McKenzie Mis H. Reid Misses E. Seville, 1. Drake, and Mis J. Donald. , ~ Aliss McKenzie, the brilliant lett inner, plaved at centre. She began splendidly by scoring twice. Jhen she collided with a Queensland player and received a hard knock, but was able to continue. Play was also suspended when Miss Drake received a severe hit under the eye from a rising ball. She was taken to hospital, but returned to. watch the match after treatment. - After half-time New Zealand played one short. Miss McKenzie was transferred to right inner, hut was unable to score. Mrs Reid had a shot just in-
side the circle, but Queensland cleared. However, Miss Cotter started a rush and Miss McKenzie just flicked the ball in.
'' New Zealand scored again just before the final bell, when Miss Saville was successful with a clean shot. After the match it was announced that one of Miss McKenzie’s first two goals had been disallowed because she played after the whistle. Western Australia defeated South Australia by 4 goals to 0.
REPRESENTATIVE MATCH DATE CONFIRMED.
Telephonic advice that the Geraldine Hockey Association had confirmed the date of August 17 for the representative match between Geraldine and Mid-Canterbury, at Ashburton, was received this morning by the secretary of the Mid-Canterbury Men’s Hockey Association this morning.
