ENSURING PEACE
DESIRE OF EX-SERVICEMEN. BRITISH VISIT TO GERMANY. (United Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, July 24. Major F. AV. C. Fetherston Godley (chairman of the British Legion), upon his return from Germany with members of the Legion, said no doubt there was a genuine wish on the part of the German “man-in-the-street” for friendship with Britain. He added that he was sure this feeling was not inspired by political motive or propaganda. Herr Hitler had impressed him as a practical idealist. He said most definitely that ex-servicemen should c-omo together and assist in ensuring peace. The delegation hoped to arrange the exchange of visits of the children of ex-servicemen.
