SHOOTING FATALITY.
EARL OF CLARENDON’S HEIR. FALL IN HUNTING SPRINGBOK. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, April 28. Lord Hyde, son and heir of the Eiarl of Clarendon, the Governor-General, died in the hospital at Kimberley as a result of a gun shooting accident, while on a springbok hunt 40 miles from Kimberley. No official version of the accident is available, but it appears that Lord Hyde was walking across the veldt when he stumbled and fell on his gun, which went off. The bullet, entered his abdomen and passed close to his heart.
