MOTOR-CYCLING.

THE ASHBURTON CLUB. ANNUAL HILL CLIMB. Bad weather conditions affected the annual hill climb of the Ashburton Motor-cycle Club at "Happy Valley," the farm of Mr E. Watson, Methven, yesterday. The track was very slippery as a result of the rain, and comparatively few riders started. Considering the condition Of the hill some fast times were put up,, the best being that of E. Smith, lmin ssec, who was the outstanding rider df the day. The record for the hill is lmin 2 3-ssec. There was a fair attendance at the hill climb. The results were as follow: — 350 c.c—R. Dunn 1, E. Smith 2, K. Knox 3. Open unlimited event —E. Smith If It. Chambers 2, R. Dunn 3. Event, for Ashburton Club members only—E. Smith 1, R. Chambers 2, R. Dunn 3. Ashburton Club Championship—E. Smith R. Chambers 2, R. Dunn 3.
