ACCIDENTS & DEATHS.
TAXI CRASHES INTO POLE. FIVE PASSENGERS INJURED. (Per Press Association). INVERCARGILL, This Day. A taxi containing seven passengers collided with a telegraph pole on the North Road when returning to the city early this morning, resulting in injuries to Messrs C. F. Lowe and G. Croxton, Mrs E. Ross (Inyercargill), Miss M. Branks (Riverton) and Mr R. F. Keith, of Henly. Mr Keith suffered a broken leg, and others were admitted to hospital suffering from cuts, abrasions and shock. One passenger escaped injury and cannot be located. The driver (Mr J. Green) escaped injury. The impact was heard a considerable distance away and roused the neighbourhood. The car was extensively damaged.
