SWIMMING.
ASHBURTON v. EAST ASHBURTON TEAMS FOR THIS EVENING. A challenge carnival between the East Ashburton and Ashburton Amateur Swimming Clubs will be held in the Hampstead baths this evening. All wins will count points for the respective clubs and it is expected that this form of carnival will prove very popular. All swimmers will start off scratch. The New Zealand swimmer, Mona Leydon, gave an exhibition swim under the'auspices of the Women's' Amateur Swimming Association at Vaucluse to-day. She was warmly applauded.
