COMBATING CANCER.
THE USE OF RADIATION. ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. Several doctors who attended the Surgeons' Congress at Melbourne, returned by the Wanganella, among them is Sir Louis Barnett. Interviewed Sir Louis Barnett spoke of the numerous valuable addresses delivered by visiting authorities from Europe and America In regard to cancer he said that reports of the operations were laid before the Fellows, and from these it could be seen that while operative procedures were still desirable in a considerable number of cases, when seen early, radiation as an alternative means of treatment was steadily gaining ground and found special importance in the event of what might bo considered incurable cases from the operative point of view.
