WRESTLING.

L. BLOMFIELD IN AMERICA. EX-NEW ZEALANDER DEFEATS PINTO. The ex-New Zealand amateur wrestler L. Blomfield, who entered the professional ranks two seasons ago under the pseudonym of Walter Browning, is figuring conspicuously in Californian w’restling circles at the moment. Blomfield is wrestling under his own name again, according to reports from Californian papers, and he has some outstanding performances to his credit. He got the better of! Stanley Pinto by one straight fall in a time limit match, which featured a great deal of comedy and showmanship. The latter statement will cause no surprise to Auckland followers of the sport who remember Pinto’s flair for showmanship and the series of hectic bouts which he had with the British Empire champion, George Walker. In fact, with the possible exception of! the Greek, John Kilonis, Pinto was probably the best combined showman and wrestler to visit the Dominion. Blomfield defeated Pinto by means of a Boston crab after 34 minutes 25 seconds wrestling. The New Zealandenhas scored several successes over opponents whose names are not familiar in this country.
