LEESTON DEFEATS! METHVEN. A team representing the Methven Lawn Tennis Club journeyed to Leeston on Saturday and played a match against tjie Leeston Club. No singles games were played, but in the doubles two sets of matches were played. Leeston won by 152 games to 139. Details are as follow, Methven names being mentioned first in each instance. SCHOOLS MATCH AT METHVEN.

The Methven District High School played a lawn tennis match against the Ashburton High School at Methven on Friday. After some enjoyable games the visitors won by six sets (44 games) to three sets (36 games). Details are as follow, Ashburton names being mentioned first: —
