THE ASHBURTON CLUB. A four-ball bogey match was played by members of. the Ashburton Golf Club during tlie week-end, the best scores being:—■ T. W. R. Gudseli and F. P. Madden, 4 up; J. T. Smith and W. Hedges, 3 up; W. P. Anderson and R. B. Lambert, 3 up; H. A. Vezey and I. Gilchrist, 1 up; A. Lane and G. B. Williams, 1 up; L. E. Carter and R. Shearman, all square; L. C. Nash and J. Sinclair( all square; C. B. Gass and O. Gass, ail square. WELLINGTON CHAMPION. WELLINGTON, March 10. Seventeen players took part in the first Wellington provincial champion of champions golf contest at Miramar today. J. L. Black (Hutt) returned the best gross scores, 73-77-150, followed by W. G. Clark (Levin) 153, and J. H. Drake (Miramar) 154. Clark’s handicap of eight gave him the best net score.
