STRIKES IN CUBA.
TEACHERS IN REVOLT. DAMAGE BY BOMBS IX HAVANA. (United Press Association—Copyright.), HAVANA, March 8. Employees of the Cuban State Department stopped work, leaving only two Government Departments operating fully. As President Mendieta s administration took vigorous steps to break the strikes gripping the nation, nearly 400,000 school teachers and students from the classrooms are leading a movement for Senor Mendieta’s overthrow.
■Street car traffic has almost completely stopped, newspaper publication is virtually suppressed by strikes of employees who are protesting against tiie Government censorship, no mail is moving, and no Government telegraph office is operating. Bombs exploded in Havana, damaging the courthouse and police stations.
