THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. ALI BEY AND RENE MICHOT. f The Ashburton Wrestling Association has arranged a special international heavy-weight contest to be held m his Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday ij|xt (Sapling Stakes night) between All Bey (Turkey) and Rene Michot (France), Both men are in excellent form, and Ali Bey secured a convincing win last, evening at Timaru over Charles Santen. Bey is a nephew ' and pupil of Yuseft Mahmont, world famous a few years ago as “The Terrible Turk.” Rene Michot has everything to make him a first-class wrestler. He has physique, weight, strength and tempeiament, but lacks in a small way the experience of the American style or roughing it. In the ring it might be said he is rathed too gentlemanly, but in France that is liow they work. For all that, however, he has secured a number of victories in New Zealand already this season, and gave Walker a very, hard tussle last Monday in Auckland.
