DAVIS CUP ZONE FINAL. AMERICANS BEAT MEXICANS. BALTIMORE,, May 30., In the singles in the final of the North American zone of the Davis Cup competition, L. R. Stoeffen (United States) beat Dr. Ricardo Tapia, the Mexican captain, 6-2, 6-3, 6-1. Stoeffen’s performance against the capable and consistent Tapia was the more impressive of the two victories. His tremendous service proved an insurmountable obstacle to tlie Mexican.

PARIS, . May .30. Both the Australian pairs scored impressive victories in the doubles yesterday, Crawford and. McGrath _ running through the Italians (Stefani and Taroni) in record time. McGrath’s back-hand was functioning perfectly, and Crawford was in something like real form. Except in the third set, when Hopman was particularly brilliant, Turnbull's fierce services and Qmst s smashes dominated the match. Prenn, who partnered Hopman, was obviously below form. , , Crawford and Miss Scriven played brilliantly to defeat Brugnon and Miss Howard in the mixed doubles, losing only one point in the last three games.
