SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.

MATCHES FOR TO-MORROW. \ i Sports fixtures in Ashburton for tomorrow will cater as usual for followers of Rugby football, basketball, hockey and golf, in several centres. Only one senior Rugby match will, be played at the Showgrounds (Technical Old Boys v. Allentcm). In this grade Hinds will meet Methven, at Hinds, and Old Boys and Rakaia will meet at Rakaia. Junior, third and fourth grade matches will be -played at most of the country districts as well as in Ashburton. The Ashburton Basketball Association’s competitions will be continued on the Domain grounds in accordance with the schedule published yesterday. Men’s and women’s hockey matches will also be played, and there is considerable interest attaching to several of the matches to-morrow. Members of the Ashburton Golf Club will play a bogey match to-morrow afternoon. The Ashburton branch of the Christchurch ’Sunt CluF wiiT hold its third meet of the season to-morrow from the Dromore corner.

FIXTURES FOR MONDAY. The principal sports fixture in Ashburton on Monday is the football match between a County senior representative team and 1 the Linwood Club at the Showgrounds. - A third grade competition match will provide the curtainraiser, and a midget seven-a-side game at the interval should add to the interest of the programme. The Ashburton Women’s Hockey Association is holding its senior and junior seven-a-side tournament in the Domain, and this should product some fast games. Association will be represented by two teams at the Canterbury Association’s five-a-side tournament in Christchurch. The teams will be finally selected after the matches afternoon. Several basketball teams from Ashburton will take part in a tourney at Geraldine. The Ashburton Golf Club has arranged a match with the Richmond Hill Club at Ashburton on Monday.
