SERIOUS ALLEGATION. LADY DE CHAIR'S DENIAL. LONDON, May 17. Lady de Chair, wife of the former Governor of New South Wales, refuted allegations made by Mr Coles, of the Egham (Surrey) Council, that the Runnymed© Pageant, of which she is the organiser, was not designed to heflb the hospitals, but was for the benefit of company shareholders. Lady de Chair said: "I guaranteed £6OOO left me by my late father. lithe pageant is wrecked, it.will wreck my husband and myself," Mr Coles retorted that he had nothing against Lady de Chair. The chairman of the council closed the discussion.
