COMPETITION FOR KING’S GUP.
.. THIRTY-EIGHT ENTRIES.' (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, May 28. "The King’s Cup air aace, which is the most important annual event of its kinds in Britain, promises this year to be exceptionally interesting. The thir-ty-eight entries which have been received include several new types of fast civil aeroplanes and engines. There is among these newcomers the l tiny Perciyal Mew Gull entered by Prince George, which has a speed of more than 200 miles an hour. A Compel* Streak has been entered by Lord Wakefield,’and a, new British Klemm Eagle has been entered by Gandar * Dower. Among the new engines will be a 200 horse-power Gipsy VI., a Popjoy Cataract and a Wolseley AR9. The performance of these newi entrants will ho closely compared by aviation enthusiasts with the longer established types. The race, which takes place on July 13 and 14 over a course of 800 miles, is divided into four rounds with prob- . tibly , eight heats in the first round, four in the second and two in the third.—British Official Wireless.
