EXHIBITION MATCH.

AMATEURS v. PROFESSIONALS.' WELLINGTON, May 29. A very interesting exhibition fourball golf match was- followed by a crowd of some four or five hundred at Masterton, when Shaw and Mclntosh, two of the leading professionals 'of New Zealand, met Horton and Hornabrook, the Masterton members of the Kirk-Windeyer Cup team. The Masterton links were in splendid order, although for the first hour the effects of the frost were noticeable and it took the professionals a little time to get the strength of the greens. Tfie match was won at the thirtysixth hole by the Masterton men, both Shaw and Mclntosh missing fairly long putts for a half. . , . • At the conclusion of the match MiGill (president of the club) thanked the visiting players for the exhibition they had given.
