DETTON BEATS CHUENG. WELLINGTON, May 23. In an exhilarating wrestling contest in the 'ToAvn Hall this evening, Dean Detton (America) beat Wong Buk Cheung (China) by tAvo falls to one. The bout was characterised by clever painful and neatly - applied holds. Cheung took the first fall in the fourth round with his famous King Foo stopper hold. Detton equalised in the sixth after a series of flying tackles, In the seventh Detton missed a flying tackle, and went through the ropes. When he returned they collided headon, and the Chinese fell back stunned. Detton then pinned him for the deciding fall.
WALKER BEATS MICHOT. AUCKLAND, May 28. George Walker, New Zealand champion professional wrestler, made his debut for the season at the Town Hall when he defeated Rene Michot, a Frenchman, in the sixth round. Michot was unable to continue. After being slammed before this deciding fall, Michot had gained a fall after a, light slam' in the third round.
