SCHOOL COLLAPSES.
TRAGEDY IN GERMANY. SEVEN CHILDREN KILLED. BERLIN, May 9. A. school teacher and seven children were killed, and 17 children were injured, when an old schoolhouse in Winterbacli, Central Wurtemberg, collapsed during lessons. The whole of the inhabitants of the village rushed to the scene, where they worked frantically to extricate the children from the wreckage. However, the heap of tangled ruins yielded up only the dead bodies of five boys and two girls, all between 10 and 12 years of age.
One child was dug out alive from where he had sprung under the school's piano as the ceiling came plunging down. The 40-year-old teacher was hurled to the floor. When he was excavated ,he had two of the smallest, pupils in his arms.
