AUSTRALIAN LOAN.
MONEY FOR PUBLIC WORKS. (United Press Association—Copyrights. SYDNEY, May 28. From the £12,000,000 loan, which the Federal Government is about to raise on the local market, it is understood that £3,500,000 will be used to fund Treasury. bills, leaving £8,500,000 for public works. This means that, of about £39,000,000 borrowed by the Commonwealth in the last eighteen months, £12,5,00,000 will have been used for the retirement of Treasurv bills and the remaining £26,5001000 for State works programmes.
