ENGINEER KILLED.
COAT CAUGHT IN MACHINERY. (Per Press Association). DTJNEDIN, May 27. Mr Robert S. Cree Brown, a consulting engineer, was killed at Haldane beach yesterday afternoon. Mr Brown invented a machine for extracting gold from sand, and was testing it at Haldane beach when his coat was caught in the machinery. He was whirled round, his head being crushed and a leg injured. -He was taken to- Inver r cargill and operated on, but did not regain consciousness.
