THE OFF-SIDE TRAFFIC RULE.
DECISION BY A MAGISTRATE. (Per Press Association). NELSON, May 26. Holding that the present regulation went further than the statutory authority, and accordingly was null and void, Mr T. E. Maunsell,. S.M., dismissed an information against a motor-cyclist for failing to observe the off-side rule by giving way to traffic on the right.
MOTORISTS DEEPLY CONCERNED. EFFECTIVE ACTION URGED. DTJNEDIN, This Day. Mr A. E. Ansell, M.P., has telegraphed the Minister of Transport (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates) that motorists are deeply concerned with the Magistrate's ruling at Nelson that the offside rule is null and void, and urging that the position be investigated and the rule made effective. The Otago Motor Clubin a statement says it would he a great pity if this rule —recognised the world overwere upset by a technicality, and urges motorists still to obey it till something better is brought iit.
