BRITISH AMATEUR TOURNAMENT (Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, May 24. In the fourth round of the British amateur golf tournament J. Goodman (United States) defeated H. G. McCallum at the nineteenth; J. Wallace defeated Eric Fiddian, 3 and 2; S. T. Matthews defeated I. S. Thomas, 2 'find 1; W. Lawson Little (United States) defeated L. 0. Munn, 3 and 2; G. T. Du'nlap (United States) defeated R. H. Wethered, 1 up. In the fifth, round L. G. Garnett defeated Goodman,'.3 and 1; A. Walker defeated Matthews, 3 and 2; Dunlap defeated Walker, 4 and 3; Francis defeated A. G. Pearson, 3 and 2; Wallace defeated McLean, 1 up ; Little defeated G. E. Peters, 4 and 3; T. A. Bourn defeated Tweddell, 2 and 1; J. Neal defeated A. McClure. The winners in the fifth round constitute the last eight.
ASHBURTON WOMEN'S CLUB. In the coronation medal match played by members of the' women's section of the Ashburton Golf Club, Mrs H. Thompson returned a card of 90—18—72.
