THE WEATHER.
SQUALLY AND COLD TO-DAY
After a frost of 3.8 degrees this morning the sun shone,in a clear sky, but about 10 o'clock cold, squally conditions blew up from the south-west. Rain and sleet fell in showers for 'the remainder of the day, although the sun broke through in-between-times. The temperature was low, and the bleak conditions kept most shoppers indoors this afternoon. The barometric pressure at 9 a.m. to-day was 30.2 inches, compared with 29.10 inches yesterday morning. Maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday and last night were 63.8 degrees aiul 33.8 degrees respectively; One point of rain was recorded during the 24 hours up to 9 o'clock.
