ASHBURTON RACES.
SPRING MEETING TO-MORROW SEVEN GOOD EVENTS' ON CARD The spring racing season so far as Canterbury is concerned will be opened to-morrow", when the Ashburton County Racing Club will hold its spring meeting on the Ashburton Racecourse, and everything is in train for a most successful meeting. It will inaugurate what should prove to be one of the most successful summer sporting seasons for many years. There are seven events on the programme, and in each the acceptors are of very good class, so that patrons should see some excellent racing. The first event is timed to start at 12.45 o'clock and the last race should start at 4.35 o'clock. The* third and seventh events are for trotters. The rain of yesterday has put the track in the best condition for the meeting. The long dry spell had made it hard, but bv to-morrow it will be m excellent trim, and fast times should be registered. The Ashburton Silver Band will be in attendance throughout .the afternoon. The usual special train arrangements have been made to suit patrons and owners.
