TOWER WRECKED.
MYSTERIOUS EXPLOSION. : SALVAGE OF LUTTNE’S GOLD. (United Press Association—Copyright). AMSTERDAM, August 28. A mysterious explosion wrecked a huge tower which had been erected at Terachelling for the salvage of £2,000,000 worth of gold and silver from the wreck of the ship Lut-ine, which was sunk in 1799. It is believed that the outrage was committed by persons wishing to salve the cargo themselves, as the directors of the salvage company had received letters warning them not to carry on with the work. Mynheer Beckers, an engineer, the designer of the tower, says he will construct another to salve the gold, even at the cost ,of his life, '
