DOUBTS AS TO SANITY.
MAN WITH A KNIFE. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, August 3. Seen running from bush to bush along Hutt Boad with a. knife in his hand, a young man was recently arrested and appeared before Mr E. Page in tho Magistrate's Court to-day on a charge of being an idle and disorderly person in that he had insufficient lawful means of support. Sub-Inspector Martin said accused had made statements to the police that led them to think he, was a mental case. Complaints had been received before about him using a knife when women were in the vicinity. Doctors, however, were not prepared to certify him. The Magistrate: It does not seem as though he is very sane if he goes about with a knife and talks in that way. The Magistrate said he would remand accused until Tuesday and would have him medically examined in the meantime.
