In a speech at the Millions Club, the German aviator, Captain Hans Bertram, said an aeroplane that will travel through space at a rate of from 700 to 1000 miles an hour, and carry mails from Australia to Europe in nine or ten hours, is regarded as almost an accomplished fact. A ’plane constructed by Professor Junkers, and, called the stratoplane, was ready for trails. The machine would mount 50,000 feet into the stratosphere and travel at a speed up to 1000 miles an hour.
