SHANGHAI BANDITS’ ATTACK. (UniteJ Press Association—Copyright.) SHANGHAI, May 31. John Harder has succumbed to the injuries he received in a murderous pirate attack on the Shanghai waterfront, when James Irvine was also critically wounded, a Chinese clerk killed, and two others were dangerously wounded. Harder and Irvine, foreign members of the Whangpoo Conservancy Board, were engaged in issuing wages from a small launch, when another launch containing seven arnied men steamed alongside. The pirates opened fire and escaped with 27.000 dollars. Two British soldiers volunteered blood transfusion in the hope of saving the victims.
