RIFLE SHOOTING.
ASHBURTON DEFENCE CLUB. A match of 10 shots at 300 and 500 yards were fired by the Ashburton Defence Rifle Club on Saturday afternoon, conditions being perfect. The winner was F. Porter, with a total of 97, S. Hyland being runner-up with 96. At the 500 yards range, C. Glassey registered the possible, 50. Details are as follow: —
