ORIENT CHAMPION'S WIN. SYDNEY, December 29. At the Stadium, Kid Johnson, fea-ther-weight and light-weight bantam of the Orient, made his first appearance and gave Norman Gillespie a terrible battering, using both hands like a threshing machine. He dropped Gillespie for nine in the first round and again dropped his opponent in the second round for six, when the police stopped the contest. Johnson was declared the winner.— Australian Press Association. SHARKEY TO MEAT STRIBLING. NEW YORK, December 30. Mr Tex Riokard has arranged a match between Sharkey and Stribling for February 27, at Miami Beach. The winner will probably meet Dempsey tor the championship.— United Service.
