HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "Children of Divorce," featuring Esther Ralston, Clara Bow and Gary Cooper, will be shown at His Majesty's Theatre to-night and to-morrow night, and at to-morrow's matinee. Twentieth-century youth! Has it gone too far? Is this "new freedom" to l>e condemned or complimented? Are these thrill-jaded children the forerunners of an even freer generation to come? It deals with the problems left for children of divorced parents to solve, and it declared a dramatically daring exposure of life in the younger social set. . On Wednesday and Thursday nights "A Thief in the Dark," featuring George Meeker and Doris Hill, will be shown.
FIREWORKS DISPLAY. To-night the Wainoni Fireworks, Ltd., will speed the departing year with the magnificent display so eagerly looked forward to by the people ot Ashburton. All the arrangements have been completed for carrying out the programme without a hitch, and a night of thrills and pleasure is assured for all who attend. Many marvels ot Pyrotechnic Art will lie presented at the Oval in the Domain.
