MONEY SQUANDERED.
WOMAN’S CONFESSED FOLLY. AUCKLAND, March 24. A few nights ago a well-dressed woman visitor from Hawke’s Bay, rushed into a Remuera boarding-house, where she was residing, and excitedly announced that she had been robbed of £l5O from her handbag, and a. diamond ring from her finger, by a man, who rushed at her.
Inquiry by detectives elicited a confession by the woman that she was about to be married. Everything had been arranged for the ceremony, ev.en to the prospective honeymoon, and r nice little home. Her future husband had sent her from Hawke’s _Bay to Auckland to purchase her trousseau and furniture* He had given her £l5O for this purpose. In reality the money had been dissipated in some mysterious and expensive manner, details of which were not available.
