SOME PECULEAR FEATURES. (Per Press Association." "WELLINGTON, March 29. Some peculiar features have developed in the Australian butter market. Canada recently imposed a dumping - duty against Commonwealth butter, owing to the fact that it was being sold in Australia at a rate higher than that at which it was available in Canada. Tins was possible owing to the operation of the levy on all butter sold Yin the Australian local market and payable to exporters in order to equalise • trade and prevent undue congestion of tbe local market. Reports are to hand that Melbourne "dealers have complained that their pooled orders are not being supplied from Queensland, and that there is danger 'of.the pooling system collapsing. It is a singular fact that some wife t ■ extensive Australian orders for butter have been placed in, New Zealand for shipment in April. It is thought that the New Zealand butter is primarily in•fcended for the Eastern tinned butter ’"trade.- ' I
