LATE SPORTS AND PASTIMES
RUGBY FOOTBALL. TO-DAY'S MATCHES. The County Rugby competitions are being continued to-day. The sky is overcast, and the grounds slippery after the rain. The following matches are being played on the Showgrounds: Senior Grade —Ashburton v. Celtic, Rakaia v. Hinds. Junior—Ashburton v. Methven. Third —High School v. Rakaia, Technical School Old Boys v. Old Boys. Fourth—High School A vHigh School G. Technical School has a bye. in their match against Old Boys, in the third grade, Technical Old Boys penned their opponents in their 25 area, and scored 11 ponits, tries being obtained by Craighead, Milliohamp ('who converted one) and C. Evans. Old boys did not score. In the fourth grade, High School A defeated High School C by 20 points to 3. Gudsell (2), Shearman. Mc.Sherry C2), and Moore were the scorers, and Pawson potted l ai goal. Two tries were I converted. A trv was obtained for the ! 0 team by Robilliard.
