HINDS.
A welcome home to Messrs .J. Hillyer, C. Hampton, D. Paterson, W. Young, J. Hughes, L. Noble, W. Dalton, J. Parsons, and N. Mclntosh was held in the Hinds Hall on Friday evening. In spite of the inclement weather there was a largo attendance, presided over by Mr J. Cook. An enjoyable concert was, held, at which the following contributed items: Misses M. and K. Rogers, M. Holland, 'Mrs Hyde, Mrs Davies, Messrs E. Cottam, H. Rogers, Rev. J. F. Feron: The chairman, on behalf of tho Hinds Patriotic Committee, extended a hearty welcome to tho returned boys and presented gold medals. The Rev. J. FFeron also spoke on the altered position of the ox-Kaiser and urged each to do his best to make the world a lit-' tie better. The recipients suitably responded. After an excellent supper the room was cleared for dancing, for which Misses Hampton and Rogers and Mr F. Hampton supplied the music, and Mr W. MoConnell acted as M.C.
