HAKATERE LODGE, 1.0.0. F.

The ordinary meeting of the above Lodge was held in the Orange Hall last evening, Bro. Wonnacott presiding over a good attendance. Two members were duly initiated into the Order by N.G. Bro. Wonnacott, assisted by. his>brother officers, and seven, new members were proposed.' After the ordinary work was attended to the Lodge was adjourned for a social evening, when about 70 brothers and lady friends enjoyed a game of progressive euchre, the prizes being won by Mrs Tutty and Mrs Tulloch and Brothers Jobberns and Miller. Songs were rendered during the evening by Bros. Scales, Ingram, Turtill, Dorm, Tilley, and Messent, a mandolin solo by Bro. H. S. Williams, and a special item was given by the Ashburton Hugo Minstrels (just recently started by the lodge), which was greatly appreciated.
