SPLIT IN LABOUR PARTY.
RETIREMENT OF MR BEEBY.
(Per Press Association—Copyright.) (Received November 8, 9.40 a.m.)
SYDNEY, November 8
The morning papers announce a split in the Labour camp and as a probable result the early retirement of Mr Beeby. The principal reasons aro his denunciation of the referendum and the offence given to the Unions by the administration of the industrial law, including the recent refusal of the Labour Council request to eliminate the penal clauses of the Industrial Arbitration Act and guarantee absolute preference to unionists. \
The Council has intimated 1 to Mr Beeby that, should he obtain the Labour nomination at next election, the central executive will not endorse his nomination. .■••'■■■■ ;
