BLENHEIM, November 8. _■ The Supreme Court sittings opened to-day before Mr Justice Chapman. In his address to the Grand Jury, His Honour congratulated the district on the total absence of crime on this occasion. The only criminal, business was the case adjourned from the previous sessions against John Vernon Binley, telegraph operator, : and-Ed-mund John Walsh, grocer, far conspiracy to defraud bookmakers by tampering with telegrams in connection with the Wanganui races. Other counts were also preferred against; both accused of attempted false .pretences, and one count against Binley alone of obtaining money under false pretences and forgery of telegrams. iThe cases are proceeding. - •
